Basic Telephony 101 - Entry Level

Course Objective: To provide the basic fundamentals of the telephone network, tools of the trade, career knowledge, cable and writing color codes; site planning for installations; backboard preparations and cable termination; pre-wiring; testing and troubleshooting.

Course Length: 3 Weeks, 2 Nights Weekly - 6:30PM to 9:30PM

Cost: $850.00  
Payable in advance of the class.

Tools Costs Approx: $225.00

Tools: Student is responsible for the telecom tools as specified below. Students may purchase tools, or borrow tools from a friend for the duration of the course.
Note: Student Must come to class with basic telecom tools by the Second session of class.


This Telecommunication Course is directed for those individuals who are seriously seeking an "Entry Level" career in Telecommunications, Electricians and "MIS" Personnel desiring more information of the 
telephony business. 

This Course Does Not Offer:

A. Any promises of job placement or guaranties for employment in the telecommunications industry or;
B.  Certification by any telecommunications manufacturer, or local city governments.

Student Basic Requirements

Course Description: This "Hands-on" Training Course will discuss the various types of telephone systems used in the past 30 years, from 1A2 to digital systems now in use.

Basic Hand Tools

Student is encouraged to obtain these tools prior to class

The following list of tools are required for this course. The student will learn the proper use and application of the various technical tools for the industry. These tools will be used in future courses and are important if the student desires to seek future employment. 

Most tools may be purchased locally through a hardware store or through a local Radio Shack®. There are "specialized" tools that must be purchased through the class or suppliers. These tools are marked with an *.

Class registration is strictly limited per session. All fees must be paid in advance prior to commencement of class.

Cancellations: You must cancel two (2) days prior to the start of the class. If cancellation is received any later, or before the first class, you will be responsible for 25% of the course fee.

No "Partial" Refunds After the First Class!
